DOL STARTER

DOL Starter provides control and protection of medium voltage motors. The rating of DOL starters are from 1kV up to 13.8kV.The simplest method is by closing a contactor/vacuum circuit breaker and allowing the motor to start at full voltage. This is the oldest method used to start a motor. The panels are complete type tested as per IEC standards.

The starting current is 6-8 times full load current of the motor.
Due to which it creates mechanical hammering, stress
on pumps & motor.

It comes into two variants

DOL Starter with vacuum contactor

These are rated up to 13.8kV,400 Amps,40 Ka /3s.It has mains disconnector switch & earthing switch. Disconnecting switch and earthing switch are electrically and mechanically interlocked. Once the mains are disconnected from the power supply, the earthing switch provides earthing to the cable side where motor is connected. Line fuses for protection along with vacuum contactor are provided. Capacitive voltage indicator, Indication lamps along with Motor protection relay are provided to ensure complete safety of the motor and equipment.

DOL Starter with vacuum circuit breaker

These are rated up to 13.8Kv,1600 Amps,40 Ka /3s.It has an option of fixed or withdrawable vacuum circuit breaker. Earthing switch and VCB are interlocked to ensure safety of personnel and equipment. Capacitive voltage indicator, Indication lamps along with Motor protection relay are provided to ensure complete safety of the motor and equipment.

Optional Equipment for DOL Starters.

An option of Capacitor bank with 2% detuned reactor along with fuses,contactor can be also provided.
Power for heater control circuit and oil pump specially for chiller application can be also provided.
Cable entry as per site requirement for incomer & outgoing cable Top/Bottom can be also provided.
